Ngāi Tahu Tourism - Dark Sky Project
Ngāi Tahu Tourism is one of New Zealand’s leading tourism operators hosting almost one million customers a year at their iconic attractions.
QUBR supported Ngāi Tahu Tourism in welcoming an announcement from Prime Minister John Key that the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment will co-fund the construction of an International Astronomy Centre on the shores of Lake Takapō (Tekapo), through its Tourism Growth Partnership.
The state-of-the-art facility adds to the existing astro-tourism experiences currently on offer through Dark Sky Project (formerly Earth & Sky), and provides an indoor, day-time astronomy experience not previously available.
The QUBR crew travelled to Takapō to film on location, providing media with ready to use content in the form of a short video, transcribed grabs, and professional photographs.
